Make what you can't get!
There is a saying by Socrates,
“If you don't get what you want, you suffer; if you get what you don't want, you suffer; even when you get exactly what you want, you still suffer because you can't hold on to it forever. Your mind is your predicament. It wants to be free of change. Free of pain, free of the obligations of life and death. But change is law and no amount of pretending will alter that reality.”
No disrespect to Socrates, but there is a diversion, "if you don't get what you want, then go ahead and make it!" Thats the route I finally decided to take on my problem with not finding bangles of the size of my wrist.
The route orthogonal to Mr. Socrates' started with a determined trip to Micheals to get clay and colors. A quick run to the grocery store to get butter paper followed. Then started the process of trying to make round objects which can pass as bangles. Socrates' words strike again - i am suffering cause i want perfectly round bangles. Solution? do not want, what you want; make what you can, and soon you shall realize thats what you actually wanted (its also called 'innovation'!)
So I took orthogonal route yet again and purposely made shapes my heart desires!
After an hour of trials I send my first tray into the oven. After fervent checks every few minutes to make sure the smell does not necessarily mean anything bad, I brought out my shapes of labor.
Skipping with happiness, I turn my oven into a factory and my never-put-to-use nail-polish collection to varnish :-)
Result you ask? More bangles than my hand can take ;-)
